Project Overview

The class project was to design a brand identity for a store or service that sells socially or environmentally conscious goods or services. The goal is to create a brand identity that reflects the store’s mission to promote sustainability.

Proposal

01. Store Concept

When talking about recycling, I found that one of the more commonly items that are pushed aside are glass items. Be-Clear aims to tackle this problem by creating a space where people can bring in their old glass or empty bottles to have them up-cycled into better glassware.

02. Values and Audience

At the heart of Be-Clear, their main value is to practice great sustainability, but they are also focused fair labor practices and promoting community based Artist and smaller businesses. Their target audience is the people who value sustainability and quality items, furthermore glassblowers who would like to showcase their work.

03. Strategy

My strategy of the Be-Clear brand is to be bold and playful with the colors and logo to make it more appealing to people. However, still be able to keep that professionalism that furniture stores like IKEA have or Target

Be-Clear’s Identity

01.Logo

Something that I really enjoyed about the typography is the contrast in thickness and the curves from the “B”. Taking the other side of the bowl and putting them together. From here I found shaped from the newly crated object and manipulated them to create a heart shape and the end of a tool that glass blowers use. After that I just refined the logo.

02. Color and Type

I took inspiration from the colors on the mood board and went with red and orange for the brand colors. I thought the red and orange added this energetic feeling to the brand. Furthermore, I decided to use an energetic and funky type to match the feeling of moldboard alongside a thiner, more rounded type to keep the professional feeling.

Takeaway

Something that I learn about this project is how to think how a brand can communicate its ethics and values clearly to the target audience. Furthermore, how to give a Brand and story and background instead of just a logo and colors
